For two performances only, West Bridgford Operatic Society turn their hand to a genre they know well…Gilbert and Sullivan! The Society’s history is steeped in the works of G&S and WBOS are excited to return to its roots for this brief foray back into its past.

HMS Pinafore, written by W.S. Gilbert and composed by Arthur Sullivan, is a timeless operetta that weaves a charming story of forbidden love and the obstacles that stand in the way of our hero and heroine’s happiness. With its witty, tongue-in-cheek humour and delightful characters, HMS Pinafore is a perfect choice for anyone who enjoys a lighthearted and entertaining performance. We’re sure you’ll fall in love with it!

West Bridgford Operatic Society return to The Squire Performing Arts Theatre from 17-21 Feb 2026 with the beloved musical Kiss Me, Kate. Be prepared to be charmed by its unforgettable blend of romance, comedy, and the classic musical genius of Cole Porter. This fresh production brings the wit and brilliance of one of Broadway’s most celebrated shows to life once again.

Based on the Broadway hit by Sam and Bella Spewack, and featuring Porter’s iconic score, Kiss Me, Kate is a playful adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. The story follows the tumultuous relationship between actress Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, Fred Graham, who are starring together in a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s play. Amidst hilarious backstage antics, love triangles, and mistaken identities, Kiss Me, Kate explores the complexities of love and show business with humour, heart, and plenty of catchy tunes.

Audiences can look forward to beloved numbers such as “Another Op’nin’, Another Show,” “So in Love,” “I Hate Men,” and “Brush Up Your Shakespeare,” each bringing Cole Porter’s timeless style and charm to the stage.
